The movie "Pearl Harbor" has been one of the biggest media events of this summer in the U.S. The news flood started with coverage of the most spectacular premiere gala in film history at Pearl Harbor. Hundreds of articles have been written in major U.S. newspapers; the two major news weeklies published feature stories regarding the release of the film. During the Memorial Day weekend right after the release of the movie, both network and cable TV broadcast special programs on Pearl Harbor. In Japan 30,000 film fans showed up for the premiere in Tokyo. The film will be released there on July 14th.
